First off, I just wanna say that I got a copy of the cast recording when it came out, and it instantly became my favorite musical of all-time. The material really hit me in a way that most of the classics never did. I love it, and it's been over a year, and I haven't stopped listening to it. It's like a ritual for me now.

So I'm in LA right now, and I'm saving up for a trip to NYC because I really really wanna see In The Heights on Broadway. I just wanna fly there, see the show, then fly back. Haha!

I know that both Lin-Manuel Miranda & Karen Olivo left the show already. Shame because I was hoping to see the OBC.

Is anyone else set to leave the show within the year? I might not make it to NYC by December, and I'm really hoping that most of the OBC will still be doing the show by then.

At the very least, I want Andrea Burns to still be there. She's not leaving anytime soon, is she?

Personally, I would say the cast is likely to be so different at this point from the cast recording that you might as well see it on tour. It will definitely play LA. I would not be surprised if the LA premiere was big enough that Lin-Manuel Miranda played in it again. Especially if it is at the Ahmanson or Pantages for an extended run.

Also, did you see the hour long special about the making of "In the Heights" that played on PBS a few weeks ago? It was an episode of GREAT PERFORMANCES. It was a standard making of, except for all the talk of cultural identity, but very good.

Has there been talk of an LA tour? I've been wishing that would happen for months now! And I hope you're right. Lin-Manuel better do a couple of shows here. He's set to work on the film version of ITH anyway. Haha! If they do go tour, they better bring Andrea Burns along!

And I freakin' loved every second of that PBS special. I TiVo-ed it, and I just watched the whole thing again last night. (Right before I started this thread. Haha.) I'm never deleting it from my DVR!

The whole thing gave me chills. Especially as they were inching closer to opening night. Great stuff. I also kinda teared up when Seth Stewart saw the huge-ass poster of him being installed.

I can't believe they haven't replayed it since then. Meantime, that David Foster special is on all the time.

Damn, I love this show so much... and I haven't even seen it!

Actually, pacinofan, you couldn't be wrong-er. The cast is actually almost exactly the way it was on opening night. The only notable exits have been Miranda, Olivo, and Carlos Gomez, who played Nina's father Kevin for some time. Christopher Jackson, Mandy Gonzalez, Robin De Jesus, and Andrea Burns are all still involved.
