The Drama Desk Nominees were announced today. There's quite a few notable snubs...
Most shockingly Patrick Stewart failed to make the list for Best Actor in a Play.
Also, "The Homecoming" was awarded an Outstanding Ensemble Award (which eliminates the cast from competition in any of the individual acting categories) but did not recieve a nod for Best Revival of a Play.
There's a lot of Off-Broadway nominees this year, particularly on the musical side. Not much clarity here in terms of forecasting who's ahead in the Tony race.

Special Awards Edward Albee in his 80th year, "whose provocative plays, including this season's Peter and Jerry, enrich the American theater."

Despite that snub I am still predicting Patrick Stewart to win best actor at the Tony Awards. I also think "The Homecoming" is somewhat more likely to win best revival over "Macbeth".

I am shocked at the omission of Kerry Butler in favor of Sierra Boggess.
Other notable omissions: Laura Linney Anika Noni Rose Sutton Foster Stew Harvey Fierstein Laurie Metcalfe S. Epatha Merkerson The "Boeing-Boeing" girls
Surprising inclusions: Julie White Mary Testa Shuler Hensley Marissa Tomei
Some other omissions whom I expect to see on the Tony nomination list: Kate Fleetwood and Rupert Goold, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Olga Merediz (not eligible this year, but they were not nominated last year in the acting categories), Jim Norton, and Loretta Ables Sayres.
What made me happy *Patti Lupone *Kevin Kline *Mare Winningham *Michael T Weiss *Marissa Tomei (so thats what she is doing) *Sinead Cusak *Fiona Shaw *Frances McDormand
