I think McCain can basically wrap up the nomination today. Since the Democrats go county by county in determining delegates evn though I believe Hillary Clinton will win more states I think it will be narrow enough that the amount of delegates she and Barack get will be close. Meaning their campaigns will keep on truckin'.

Well I certainly hope that Hillary Clinton does what she needs to do today and wins the popular vote in California, New Jersey and of course New York. Even if that happens, it won't be decided b/c it's a proportional thing but at least she'll have the momentum.
It's my opinion that we need a candidate who knows how to make change, not just how to pronounce it...

California is actually going for Clinton. This might give her a push to win the primary. Tough call. Either way we win, whether it be Obama or Clinton...the way I see it.

Barack Obama has done nothing at all for the State of Illinois. He used the State as a stepping stone for his presidential aspirations, without bothering to achieve anything.
Looks like this one is a draw. Hilary did not slam the door; Barack did not fade into the background. For the dems 3-4-08 seems to be the day when me might have a clearer picture as to the potential nominee.
Hoping for the best!!!

I think the current situation helps Obama. Clinton may do well in some big states like Texas (with its large Hispanic population), Pennsylvania & Ohio (both with a large Union presence) but I believe Obama will continue to win in more states (Maryland, Washington, Oregon, Washington D.C., etc). Also, Obama's followers seem a lot more excited than Clinton's, and these early successes will ensure even more Obama people, especially the young people, actually go out and vote.

It's gonna happen. Prepare yourself for a big legal battle over reinstating these delegates. (Which would of course benefit Hillary)
The state Democratic parties did fail their people by jumping the primary gun, but the voters shouldn't be penalized for that. They should be reinstated, especially since the race is this close. It's an enormous amount of people who will have no voice in this process.

I don't think there is a chance they will be re-instated. The primaries may be done over, which I think has happened before under similar circumstances, but there is no legal case for just re-instating the numbers as they stand. Even the Republicans punished Florida and Michigan though they gave them half their normal number of delegates rather then take them all. If the primaries are redone I don't know that Clinton would win Michigan again. Union voters would help her but there are a lot of African Americans in the Detroit area.

I am watching COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN right now and they are talking about doing the Michigan and Florida primaries over again.

They mentioned on COUNTDOWN that doing a primary over again has happened before, which as I mentioned before I thought was a case, in Delaware under very similar cicumstances where there delegates were not going to count otherwise.
