What a BS! Now I know that HFPA didn't even watch the series it has nominated. Anna Paquin should give it back to January Jones. What a BS! Poor January... Now I know that Sally Hawkins is going to lose, too. She will lose to Meryl or Frances. :[

Eileen Atkins won the Emmy. Dern deservedly beat her this time.
Deservedly? Did you watch Cranford? Atkins is at the top of her game, she even beat Judi Dench at the BAFTAS for the Best Actress Award, and she was only in half of the mini-series. Laura Dern was good and very funny, but she doesnt come remotely close to the work that Atkins did.
Laura Dern won partly because the Globes sees her as their own, having once been a Miss Golden Globe. They showered the same love towards past Miss Golden Globes, most notably MelaniE Griffith, who got showered with nomination after nomination.
The Globes look like so much fun to actually be at. Everyone at The Oscars always look like they're about to fall into a coma. The energy is much better at The Globes.

I actually think Anna Paquin is great in True Blood. I haven't watched some of the other nominated shows and their respective lead actresses to comment on who deserved it most though. Anyways, Congrats Anna!!
Oh God, Ricky Gervais! Thank you for the "Extras" Holocaust film shout-out to Kate Winslet!
Congratulations, Primetime Emmy Winners!

Don Cheadle just introduced the clip for Burn After Reading, and wondered aloud why the Coen brothers have never hired him for any movie. Considering how few people actually go see Coen Brothers movies, Don, consider yourself lucky.
The head of the HFPA hacks, has just asked everyone "and Steven" to have a good time. For crissakes, stop grinning ear to ear, Spielberg. You really demean yourself by accepting their stupid Cecil B. DeMille Award.
Mad Men's Jon Hamm was ROBBED! Gabriel Byrne wasn't even at the show to accept his award for BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A TELEVISION SERIES - DRAMA for HBO's In Treatment, a how whose ratings are so low they barely register.
And now Anna Paquin has won BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A TELEVISION SERIES - DRAMA for the abysmal True Blood, another HBO show. Anyone want to insist that these awards aren't bought and paid for by whichever company spends the most on the HFPA? Anyone? ANYONE? This is exactly why Jeff Bewkes installed the promotions guy, Richard Plepler, to head the pay channel. I can only imagine what those bribes cost Time Warner shareholders
