Why end, she just speaks the truth. LOL.

Because of issues like that I still had "Curious" as my best picture prediction with "Slumdog" taking director and screenplay. I just could not see those starf*cking Globe voters giving best picture to a movie without any stars.

What world you are living in??? BB was not winning, end of story. SM has everything going for it. A film praised as "Triumph of Global Cinema"losing GG would be weird. LOL

AND YES, you can go **** yourself, but BB is so much better film on all levels. So I am not sure who is ****ing who here.

Interesting results.

Slumdog is on its way to Oscar. Nothing is in its way. Smart move by Fox Searchlight to keep it "under the radar" up til this point so it doesn't get overhyped. Now it is going to be everywhere.

Winslet's double win is an extremely interesting one. These actress categories are going to be very hard to predict. I think the loss really hurt Hathaway. I don't think she has a chance to win now. Now I think it's Winslet vs. Streep in Actress and Cruz vs. Winslet in Supporting. I think Winslet's speeches sealed the deal that she's going to win an Oscar, but where does Winslet win?

I'm not surprised Penn lost. I predicted it.
But I still don't think Rourke will win the Oscar...but I don't think Penn will win either. I'm thinking Eastwood (if he gets nominated).

Um, no. Many of us here actually predicted Ben Button because of the Globes history of being starskanks. Have you seen th Globe winners in the last couple of years. They picked frikkin' Atonement over NCFOM, so many of us expected that Button would prevail.

I was not the only person in the prediction thread to have "Benjamin Button" win best picture. I was wrong and as I preferred "Slumdog" I am happily wrong.

There were two outstanding moments tonight.

First, Tina Fey mentioning Babson Lacrosse, dlanefan and Cougar-Letter. I couldn't believe she read all the things we talked about her the past year!!!! Tina, I am an admirer of your work and you totally deserve all the awards you got!

Second, Sally Hawkins' speech. Awards shows are worth watching because of emotional, moving and honest moments like that!

I expected to see Kate Winslet winning Best Supporting Actress for "The Reader", but I didn't thought she was going to win Best Actress. Her two awards are a strong indication that this is her year, that she will finally win her first Oscar.

The other surprise of the night, for me, was the victory of Mickey Rourke. Now, there are two open races for the Oscars: Best Actor and Best Actress. The SAGs will probably define everything.

Overall, we had a nice Golden Globes. We didn't have a lot of surprises but we had some great moments.

OMG!! Kate Winslet with TWO wins!! I screamed for joy!! BUT i did have a feeling half ways through the show. I said to my friend.." You know what...it just came across my mind..and with a gut feeling i now have..i think Winslet is winning BOTH her categories tonight. Wouldn't that be a shocker". Shocked the hell out of me it did!! For u naysayers..of course she will be nominated for an Oscar. Not sure she will get 2 noms ..but it sure looks that way(Globes and SAG) right now. And she WILL win a damn Oscar too next month.

I predicted Rourke. As "Milk" was not nominated for anything but actor I thought Penn was out. As Langella has not won anything as of yet I chose Rourke who at least has some minor awards to his name and a dramatic life story.

So, now we chisel in Slumdog for Picture, Directing, Adapted Screenplay, and Score; Ledger for Supporting Actor and (as long as she'd nodded in the category) Winslet for Supporting Actress.

Yawn.

So the Rourke vs. Penn showdown is now a reality. In theory I guess there's a possibility for Frank Langella to be a spoiler in that race (theory reads: veteran actor, industry respect, film's best shot at a win) though there doesn't seem to be any sort of groundswell for him.

Best Actress. Whoa. What a fun disaster. If Kate wins the SAG, might it be possible that she wins TWO Oscars in one night? Of course we can't count out Meryl until the envelope is opened, and if Cate Blanchett gets herself nominated all bets are off. Anne Hathaway needs that SAG win, I think, to become viable at the Oscars.

The following events have happened under my collegiate watch...
A fantasy film wins the Oscar for Best Picture (LOTR: ROTK)
Kate Winslet and her Golden Globes
Arizona Cardinals win 2 playoff games and go to the NFC Championship
Martin Scorsese wins the Oscar
A black U.S. President (Barack Obama)
A professional sports organization cancels an entire season (NHL)
A professional sports team loses EVERY SINGLE GAME (I'm talking about YOU, the Detroit Lions)
Goldderby becomes the Envelope

It's fate saying that "While BC is a collegiate, let's have strange things happen that have never taken place before."

If the Arizona Cardinals win the Super Bowl, Kate Winslet and "Slumdog Millionaire" win the Oscar, and Martians land on the moon in the next five months, I will be a rich man...

I hope the SAG voters give Kate Winslet best actress and Penelope Cruz supporting actress to clear up this damn mess.

I think Winslet's double win hurt her chances even more. Had she stopped with Reader she could have secured it. Now AMPAS voters are going to get confused.

It's #2 in 2008 ticket prices.

It was a huge hit, but was not remotely the 2nd most popular film of all time.

GWTW, The Sound of Music, Ben-Hur, Star Wars, ET all sold more tickets, just for starters.
