Well normally they don't honor someone with this award if there is a chance that they might be nominated, so you can cross off Duvall and Streep.

My website and blog are taking a little break, since Geocities is closing and I now have to upload everything to a new site, so I am working on a new design and it is gonna take me a while, hoping to get it up by Oscar Season.

Michael Caine is a decent choice.

Woody Allen? Diane Keaton?

I hope The Office wins as Best Comedy Series for this year's Emmy Awards.

I really wish they would choose a woman since they haven't honored one since 2000. Which IMO is ridiculous when you think about all of the amazingly talented actresses there are.

Some of my personal choices would be:
Eileen Atkins
Carol Channing
Angela Lansbury
Holland Taylor

I know these choices are extremely unlikely, but they are people I would like to see honored.

For Your Grammy Consideration:
Kristin Chenoweth - in all eligible categories

If it is a woman, I think Angela Lansbury, Julie Andrews, Carol Burnett or Mary Tyler Moore would be the most likely.

Somehow, I have been thinking lately it would go to Denzel Washington this time. They have only honored one minority EVER, plus DW has a movie opening in January. That would make perfect sense.

One of the greatest actresses of the XX century Angela Lansbury deserves every award she can get, but does she really need Cecil B. DeMille Award?
She already holds the record for the most Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress in a television drama series and tied with Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep for most Golden Globes wins for a performer with six awards. What she really needs and deserves it an Honorary Oscar or a interesting movie role so she can win a competitive one.
But I agree that a woman should get one for a change (kudos to SAG Awards and Academy Awards (finally!) for awarding Betty White and Lauren Bacall this year).

I would've love to see legendary Jeanne Moreau to be awarded.

I find it very interesting that the last 3 recipients have been Golden Globe Award (and Oscar) winning directors. If this trend continues, it will be so much harder for a woman to win again, as the most recent female recipient is also the most prominent (and only Golden Globe Award winning) female director there is.

That's certainly one way to go. At least the presentation will be a strong one with a wealth of material to work off of. Congrats to Marty!

Agree with Tom's sentiments completely.

Why is there such a lack of diversity in this award? Why such few women???
