Ellen Pompeo (aka Meredith Grey on Grey's Anatomy) has been bringing this incredibly difficult, very well written, all women rolled into one character, to life for the past 5 years now. And she has been everything from spectacular, amazing, nailing it each and every single time, playing with our emotions, brilliant at it to real and very life like amazing performances.
She is the core, the heart and soul of Grey's Anatomy. it all comes back to her. No matter how far the story line goes, around which character of those brilliant 11 it's about, it always comes back to the center core of it all: Meredith Grey.
If Ellen Pompeo wasn't as strong as she is in portraying Meredith Grey, then this show wouldn't have been as successful as it is now or has been for the past 5 years. Other great actors wouldn't have been able to play off her emotions and her actions the way they do, like the great Sandra Oh. Who had some of her most memorable scene with Ellen. Or like Patrick Dempsey, or James Pickens Jr.
She can portray all emotions, either with her voice, her body language or even with just her eyes and expressions. Never too much.. they are always subtle and very real life like, and very believable.
Ellen Pompeo, being Meredith Grey, the name sake of the show, the lead actress, is forced to only run in the Lead actress category in all awards, even though she shares the space and time on the show with 11 other amazing cast members. Her on screen time is half that of other leading actresses she usually competes against, that is not in her best interest. But what Ellen does in the time she does have on screen is sometimes too difficult to put into words. She is simply amazing at being Meredith Grey, and she managed to hook millions of fans since day 1 episode 1 season 1 of Grey's Anatomy 5 years ago. Her award is well overdue..
Ellen Pompeo deserves your support. Ellen Pompeo deserves a Golden Globe nod and win. It's time Ellen Pompeo is given her award for portraying one of the most controversial, most difficult characters ever written, so well for over 5 years.
Please Support Ellen Pompeo. And give her the award she so much deserves. thank you.

Thanks for supporting Ellen. that was one of the best episodes of season 5 I think, with 5x21 "Not good at saying sorry" Ellen (Meredith) was amazing in them on so many levels.

Ellen Pompeo really really really deserves an award for all the amazing work she's been doing with Greys and her character as well as her exemplary dedication to the show. Fingers crossed for an deserved Ellen nomination

Totally true, her professionalism is exemplar! Just the fact that she has been able to do all the shoot before taking her short maternity leave show how much she's devoted to the show and the fans.
I think Ellen winning an award would not just be for her great preformance as Meredith Grey but also for her dedication, her support and how she always thanks the fans and knows it's all about them. I love that in her. she's humble and down to earth... and very professional as many who worked with her stated.
Joe - Its a "campaign" being launched by fangirls on the ABC Message Boards to try to win a nomination for Ellen Pompeo. They appear to be posting the link all around so I expect lots of new people coming to this site to pimp Ellen Pompeo.
I don't see the harm in having a thread started by fans. We work tirelessly to support Ellen and shouldn't be knocked down for doing so.
From fan girls, or not, Ellen is a talented actress who who gets overlooked year after year. If her critics have an opinion on whether she deserves a nom then please post why or why not. Just help keep the thread serious either way.

I think Ellen Pompeo does a reasonable job of portraying Meredith Grey but don't think she deserves a GG nom this year.
I don't find her to be the best actress on her show even, nevermind best in the lead actress field. She's had some strong moments over the past year (the time period the nominations should be looking at) but they've been just that, moments. Those moments are usually followed up with a scene that is not great and on a few occasions cringeworthy. Compared to other ladies on TV right now I just do not see the overall strength and powerful performances that some of the other actresses achieve consistently.
I do not think that she deserves any award consideration based on her perceived dedication to the fanbase, because she worked while pregnant (women do this every day btw) or the fact she is professional. None of that is relevant when considering who should be nominated for an acting award that is based performances throughout a year.
If she is nominated over other actresses I would be surprised. I certainly would not find the Golden Globes "stupids" if she were not.
I thought Gold Derby didn't allow individual fan threads for actors on the forums. Has this changed?

Supporting an individual actor seriously with a good thread is allowed because it brings more people here and it's what they want.
Meredith Grey is a very complex character and not everybody gets how much goes into portraying her as good as Ellen does. to be able to hit on all those right notes the way she does is not easy at all.
I think she more than deserves a GG nod and win. Others who had have got nods before her and won, not all have been stellar actors with strong material.. sometimes it was a shock really that a certain person took the GG.
Ellen deserves the recognition. and should be awarded for her amazing work on Grey's.
No. this is simply to support Ellen Pompeo done by her fans from several sites like twitter and abc board and fan forum. why is that so hard to believe? besides... the Emmys are done that's why we chose the Globes because they are next and thought this would be a good place to politely support her. So if you're not interested in that, pls don't post here.
This site is not a fan forum but meant to critically analyze film/TV/music/theatre awards and the quickest way to get a lot of negative postings around here is by telling people not to do it.

Sorry for that. and this is not intended as a fan forum subject. this is for the Golden Globe people to notice and see... that's why we're supporting her here with this simple thread. if it wasn't allowed they would have told us so and removed this thread. but, luckily for us, it seems it is allowed.
So, this is to support Ellen Pompeo for a Golden Globe nom and win hopefully this season.
