Is Carey Mulligan going for comedy or drama? In the trailer it looks really drama-ish and she could win in drama they're are no big contenders for drama other than Hilary Swank

One thing I like at the Golden Globes is the ensemble categories, so is anyone going to be brave and predict nominees in these categories for TV and movies

The Golden Globes does not have ensemble awards. You must be thinking of the Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG Awards).

I saw the trailer for F Gary Gray's Jamie Foxx/Gerard Butler thriller Law Abiding Citizen and the studios have brought the release date forward from March 2010 to 16 Oct 09. A good sign they have high hopes this could become a contender in award season. Gerard Butler looks amazing as Clyde whose wife and daughter are murdered and seeks revenge on the DA who brokers a deal with the killers. The trailer is getting excellent buzz online and its one of the best trailers i have seen all year. Gerard Butler is amazing in the clips I have seen so far and has the potential to become a great "baddie" that awards could be bestowed upon. I'm tipping him for a Best Supporting Actor nomination as I'm not sure who is meant to be lead him or Jamie.

Here's my prediction. I based it on HFPA absolutely loving stars and leaving the Indie Fare for the Spirits. This isn't necessarily how I think AMPAS will think it through.
I also believe "An Education" will be submitted to drama categories. People think the movie's a comedy because of the tone of the trailer. The same could be said last year when people thought "Rachel Getting Married" was a comedy.

I think you will be seriously surprised kelemenmarc. The Hangover was a massive success over here in the U.S., both commercially and critically! I'm sure the Globes will eat this film up! Especially since Bradley Cooper is such a "movie-star" now!

But who would have thought that Tom Cruise would get in for Tropic Thunder or that James Franco would get in for Pineapple Express. The Former horrible, the latter a great surprise. I haven't seen The Hangover, but you never know.
My website and blog are taking a little break, since Geocities is closing and I now have to upload everything to a new site, so I am working on a new design and it is gonna take me a while, hoping to get it up by Oscar Season.

I know that picking Maya Rudoplh is kind of silly but I don't know if Meryl Streep can be nominated twice in the same category and with All About Steve I doubt Sandra Bullock could get nominated for The Proposal which wasn't exactly better. Critics seemed to like Maya Rudolph's performance. Maybe something better will come along and I'll replace her. Also the Globes don't alway limit categories to five so I suspect the best picture(drama) category could go to seven.

Actually I predicted Cruise to get a Globe nod about a year ago, in fact, I may have been the first. Everyone thought I was crazy, but it was a good feeling when I said "I told ya so" on GG nomination day! Franco though was a pleasant surprise to see nominated. That's why I think Cooper stands a good chance at getting nominated - I mean Franco was a star, but he became much more of a moviestar after Pineapple Express and Milk last year, and PE was a mainstream summer box-office comedy success. The Hangover was one of the most successful summer box-office comedies, and it made a moviestar out of Bradley Cooper.

I was really thinking about that too. I think Baldwin could get a nomination, but I think it just all comes down to how much he will schmooze with the HFPA. Baldwin is in television-land now (and he's great at it), but I know how publically desperate he has been to go back into movies, and the HFPA is good when it comes to situtions like this. A nomination will definitely help boost Baldwin a bit, so don't count him out with that. I wanted to put him in, but who am I gonna take out? Damon for The Informant! Trust me I want to do that so badly, but I just have a feeling that he will get nominated for what looks to be a terrible role in a terrible film (but I wouldn't know until I actually see it - it's making the festival runs and it's getting a fairly positive reception...).

How about films like In The Loop or performances like Katie Jarvis's in Fish Tank?
BTW, The Tempest has been moved to a later date in 2010.

I'm sorry but I believe you have just lost your credibility in this forum. Bradley Cooper has a better chance of WINNING a goddamn MTV Movie Award compared to Efron's performance in that lame-ass movie.
He will get nominated, sir. Along with Damon, Clooney, Day-Lewis or Levitt. Maybe even Paul Rudd.
